“Happiness is a Perfume…

…you cannot pour it on others without getting a few drops on yourself”

“In a small village in the valley, lived a man who was always happy, kind, and well disposed to everyone he met. Everyone who met him left, feeling better, happier and elated. One curious villager wanted to know his secret and asked: “Most people are selfish, unsatisfied, do not smile often, neither do they lend a helping hand nor are as kind as you are. How do you explain this?”

The man smiled and replied,

“When you make peace with yourself, you can be in peace with the rest of the world.”

“When you recognize the spirit in yourself, you can recognize the spirit in everyone, it will be natural to be kind, unselfish, helpful to all.”

“When your thoughts are under your control, you become strong and firm.”

A lot of work is necessary. Good habits need developing.

You can train yourself to think this way through self-examination by questioning beliefs, here’s how;

When you are in a situation, ask yourself;

Is it true?

Am I 100% sure?

What is holding on doing to me?

Who would I be if I didn’t hold on to this belief?

Then, write down the answers and train yourself to think that way.

The mind is like a robot programmed to do certain tasks. Habits and thoughts are the tools and programs that control the mind. You need to free yourself from this programming. Then, the inner good and the happiness that reside within you will be revealed.

Now that you practice building happiness within you, you cant but help pouring it onto others, it will flow naturally, without a second thought.

Have you heard of the phenomenon ENTRAINMENT, A Dutch scientist named Christiaan Huygens realized that multiple pendulums mounted on the same wall always ended up swinging in perfect synchrony, even when he had set them in motion at different times. This phenomenon of falling into sync holds good for humans too; One feel good person sucks the others around him to feel good too!

Have you heard the phrase “stop worrying about what everyone feels about you?” Instead you pretend to love everyone around you until proven otherwise, humans are capable of great goodness too, give them a chance to pour it out on you and watch for THE RIPPLE EFFECT.

Have you heard of being a positive gossiper? We all love to gossip, make it your thing to GOSSIP POSITIVELY, whenever you are in a situation where there is negative gossip, look to change it into something positive, something humorous, something to bring laughter into the room.

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS, I once read on a hoarding, “true charity is when you help someone who you know can never repay your good deed,” make a conscious effort to reach out to someone daily and do a random act of kindness. It’s the psychological theory that acts of kindness give you an effect of a morphine high.

Your day will be made!

Functional Magnetic Resonance Imagine Technology: shows that the same areas of the brain stimulated by food and sex are stimulated by giving.

HOW: Endorphins are the fun little chemical produced when you exercise. They also give you that feeling of being high on life. The good news is that helping others gives you this same sort of feeling. The simple feeling of being happy.

THE EFFECTS: Put yourself in the shoes of the person that you are helping or being kind to, they feel acknowledged, cared for and loved in a way. Thus reducing stress, even if it’s only for a moment. This gives you a sense of satisfaction and joy. Your stress levels will lower for a little bit. Everyone involved gets a dose of happiness. Its contagious, it creates Altruism, You pay it forward.

THE BOOST: The end-caps of our genes are called telomeres; these caps of DNA at the ends of chromosomes are what help protect your cells from aging. Long-term stress actually shortens these end-caps to the point they can no longer protect your cells, leading to ill health. When you’re happy and filled with positive energy, telomeres don’t wear out, giving our health a boost.

GO FOR KINDNESS:

There are a million ways to pay it forward.

You don’t have to make a grand gesture to help others.

Find your passion through giving.

Figure out what makes you happiest.

Find the best way that fits you.

Once you do this, you’ll feel the purpose, the high, and the smile rise through your body.

The HAPPINESS PERFUME will pour some on you!
