1980s: The dashing Ravi Shastri was as good
a cricketer as he was a ladies man. After all, he

eighties, the socially popular Ravi met the feisty and
ambitious Amrita Singh and sparks flew instantly.
They were quite public about their relationship
and were seen all across town and outside cosying
of them went on to have multiple marriages that up in love. But when it came to marriage, it was
also went awry over time. Zeenat Aman married a whole different cauldron. Rumour has it that
Sanjay Khan, and later Mazhar khan, whilst Imran Ravi even got engaged to Amrita. But he was a
Khan married British socialite Jemima Goldsmith, self-proclaimed chauvinist who wanted a wife
then Reham Khan and then Bushra Bibi. whose first priority would be setting up home and

1980: The West Indian cricket team’s dream run
around the world lasted close to two decades. It
was in the eighties that the West Indian Vivian
Richards, a much-married man but with a
reputation and taste for the ladies, bowled over
Neena Gupta, an actress known for her amazing
portrayals and performances, who had won much
critical acclaim albeit not quite a commercial
success. What started out as a one-night stand,
changed Neena’s life forever. She got pregnant
and bore Vivian’s child even though they would
never get married. Vivian never shrank from
playing his Mrs, whilst the independent Amrita
was not willing to give up her then rising career
for home, hearth, hubby and diapers immediately.
They parted company, and in 1990 and 91, went on
