         The Woman In The Window
A J Finn’s novel was a big publishing success when it came out in 2018,
and remains a bestseller. The book that falls into the now popular
unreliable narrator genre, with its Hitchcockan plot-- with Rear Window
being a clear inspiration—was an inevitable choice for being turned into a
movie. However, the many layers and twists do not translate all that well
into cinema. Those who watch the Joe Wright film (out on Netflix) without
reading the book would find it intriguing and even entertaining.
Stars like Julianne Moore and Jennifer Jason Leigh turn up in thankless
cameos. Reading the book after the movie is recommended, since it is a
                             pulse-pounder.
