REENA ROY &Â MOHSIN KHAN
1983: Reena Roy was a very successful and popular actress, caught in the throes of an intense but unhappy relationship with the much older Shatrughan Sinha who despite Reena, had announced his marriage to Poonam Chandiramani. In a bid to escape her sorrow, Reena suddenly announced that she was marrying Mohsin Khan, a handsome Pakistani cricketer in top form in the eighties. They were deliriously happy in the beginning, travelling between Pakistan, London, where Mohsin had a home, and India, where Reena’s family was. Reena bore Mohsin a daughter they named Jannat, and gave up her thriving stardom for domestic joys. Mohsin Khan found himself an optional career when he stepped into Bollywood and bagged a number of films that even fared well. His ambition grew but Reena was unable to keep pace with him or adjust to living in London with him and his dual professional demands. They dissolved their marriage without rancour in the early nineties, and Reena returned to India with her daughter, who she renamed Sanam. Mohsin Khan continued to do films long after and also went on to remarry a couple of times more.
