Sansar ki he shai ka itna hi fasaana hai, ik dhund se aana hai, ek dhund mei jana hai, our Seniors Today reader Dinesh Wadhwa reminisces on his life and learnings…
Music flows in my blood. My late dad used to sing bhajans in a reputed Geeta Bhawan Mandir in Indore. My mother @81 prepares, writes and sings “Mataji Ki Bhajans” in zoom chowkis and live as well. My son used to perform with Anandji bhai of Kalyanji Anandji fame in his little stars group till the age of 14, and my daughter is a shy singer.
I performed on harmonium first time in school stage in class IV. Later represented school in vocal and instrumental music competitions. My first vocal was “Musafir hoon yaaron...in Red house, won award for cross gender song tora man darpan kahlaye …in High school.
Even today on my YouTube informal channel, I sing cross gender and other film songs and ghazals. At engineering college in Pilani Rajasthan, I picked up piano accordion and gave vocal and instrumental performances for 5 years. Was fortunate to learn Carnatic classical music from my teacher and guru late Shri N S Raghavan.
I learnt from basics Alaap to kirtanam stage (tyaagraja pattern) and gave a program with my Bengali guru bhai with violin and mridangam accompaniment.
While working and in business, used to crave for accompaniment to my vocals by using table, till I discovered karaoke. My passion continues by using karaoke tracks for ghazals and film songs.
Now my passion is to hunt for good tracks and sing my soul out by uploading them in YouTube.
This is a “swant sukhaye ” activity which becomes “Jan hitaaye.” by dedicated team of “Seniors Today ” and their various events . Professionally, after school I did mechanical engineering from Bits Pilani, management degree from Bajaj Bombay, worked with Mazagon dock Ltd Mumbai, Asian paints, travelled overseas, started a business enterprise trading and servicing of pneumatic and electrical accessories with my late dad, outsourced the family business in 2009.
After his sudden demise and entered academics .after serving a couple of management colleges & Indore University presently working with a reputed management and commerce college & Pvt iti as project in charge, director in charge & chair-placement & founder faculty & registrar, in Indore.
Keeping my passion for music alive “which is the bliss of solitude…”.
Can’t close my life journey without expressing my gratitude to the team of seniors today , Pradyuman, Abhishek, Furqan, Archana and Jeeya ( I love the way she says “all right”) for providing us this platform , otherwise kisko fursat hai jo thaame deewane ka haath …
As for the my life story for readers I will try to summerise my experience of 27 years with industry, and 26 years with academics as follows:
1. Life story – Sansar Ki He Shai Ka Itna Hi Fasaana Hai, Ik Dhund Se Aana Hai, Ek Dhund Mei Jana Hai
2. Avoid 2 c’s — compare, criticize
3. Never discuss politics and religion in public. They are too personal to be discussed
4. Never ask “why” or “kyoon” with relatives
5. Follow your passion to the fullest.
6. Be honest, persevering and hard working in your professional life. Because na jaane kis roop mei Narayan mil jayein
7. Please take of your body as a temple which houses your soul. Everyone can serve you but no one can bring back your health.
8. Live every minute to its fullest…..jo bhi hai bus yehi ek pal hai !
9. Learn to ignore than to react.
10. Thank the Almighty for all that he has given you. You have not done anything. He is making you do it
11. Lastly, success of married life: always be in “surrender” mode with your life partner.
