I am Amresh Jalali. I am sharing two incidents, one from my professional side and the other related to music.
After graduating in engineering I worked with Leading Consulting and Construction organisations for over five decades, in various parts of the world.
The first incident occurred during my working with a consultancy organisation in Calcutta (Kolkatta). Our team comprised of senior engineers specially selected to handle the first of its kind Fast Breeder Test Reactor project at Kalpakkam,Chennai. My selection to be part of this prestigious team at such a young age was in itself very satisfying. Our team was appreciated for executing the project as scheduled.
It so happened that one fine day I saw my brother coming to me with a broad smile and handling over a copy of the Sunday Magazine that he had picked up at a book store.
To my very pleasant surprise I saw that my picture was on the cover page of the Sunday Magazine with a story inside about our organisation.
This was indeed a moment of pride and feeling of satisfaction that I was part of this team.
The Story of Musical Journey
Music was my passion from young age and I loved to sing in different languages , and the second story is related to music that I would like to share with you all.
I was working in Seychelles on an assignment for few years. I found that people there were so warm and wonderful and very passionate about Music and that was one thing you would always find around you in the air and with people chilled out and dancing seems to be in their blood.
I happened to meet a local band who  would occasionally call me up on stage  as a guest singer, whenever i visited the joint where they played. They helped me  translate a few lines from English to creole which I converted into a few of my own songs and had them recorded.
After I had finished my assignment there and my wife and I were driving to the airport, I received a call from someone asking me to switch on the car radio. .
I was in for a very pleasant surprise as Radio Seychelles was playing my creole songs in a live broadcast with a special commentary on me.Â
I was so humbled. The few minutes of air time for me was a pleasant memory to treasure.
To top it all at the airport counter while checking out, I found a small packet containing a cassette and the message of appreciation…my prized possession!
Finally, I would like to compliment the Seniors team for the excellent social work they have taken up.
Delighted to read this article by Mr. Jalali. I had the privilege of being his colleague. Can I get his contact details? Alternatively, can you send my contact details to him?
