Sourendro-Soumyojit’s World Music Day Concert in Kolkata is now in its 14th year and has become one of the most looked upon events of the city. Every year on summer solstice thousands of music lovers from all across the country come to join this unique curated concert.
This year is the 14th edition of the concert , and it has been themed ‘Collab’ . Artistes from different genre of music come together to collaborate and create an exclusive musical experience.
From Shankar Mahadevan along with the Police band revisiting Nazrulgeeti to Vishal Bharadwaj joining Shubha Mudgal to sing the philosophy of Lalan and Kabir. from Leslee Lewis joining hands with Bangla Band Chandrabindoo to the celebrating the nostalgic 90s to Sourendro – Soumyojit collaborating with Ustad Amjad Ali Khan in painting the colours of Bhairavi. Papon and Rekha Bharadwaj shall voices a song that will celebrate the much talked about love of Amrita Pritam and Sahir Ludhiyanvi. Aruna Sairam and a Rapper shall converse on women empowerment. A special anthem to mark the centenary year of Md. Rafi Sahab shall be performed.
