I find nothing more refreshing than sipping on a cool glass of water during a scorching summer dayor even cold days. It quenches my thirst like nothing else in the world. Inspite of repeated reminders from friends , nutritionists et all, to switch to room temperature or hot water, my core tells me to enjoy this indulgence.

Chinese culture says; hot or warm water should be the preferred choice, regardless of the weather. This practice is deeply rooted in Chinese tradition and has cultural, historical and medicinal significance. Warm water aligns with the principles of yin and yang, which are fundamental in Chinese medicine. Maintaining a balance between these forces is crucial for good health. Cold water is considered as yin and is thought to disrupt your internal harmony, making hot or warm water the go to option.

Now, you might be wondering – is drinking hot water genuinely beneficial?

For many fitness enthusiasts and those aiming to shed pounds, starting the day with a steaming cup of water is a common ritual.
